Key Responsibilities
A. Administrative assistant to the Consul General
o Maintain calendar and phones
o Handle contact list and correspondence
o Prepare documents including letters
o Prepare materials for events
o Administrative duties for General Affairs
o General office responsibilities, including Japan-related inquiries and correspondence
B. Assistant to General and Political Affairs
o Administrative duties for General and Political Affairs
o Monitor Political Issues in 10-state jurisdiction
o Speech and letter writing
o General office responsibilities, including Japan-related inquiries and correspondence
o Generate daily and monthly political reports
o Research and report on political issues

Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree
o Excellent analytical and communication skills in English, both written and verbal
(Japanese language ability is preferred but not required)
o Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Access etc.)
o Superior attention to detail
o Experience living in Japan or working in a Japanese environment strongly preferred
Work hours
Five days per week, from Monday to Friday, 9:15-17:00 each day. Occasional overtime.
