We are delighted to announce that the 13th Biennial Conference of Asian Studies in Israel will take place at Tel-Hai College on Wednesday-Thursday, May 18-19, 2016. The conference framework remains unchanged; it will be a two-day event, with cultural activities held in the evening of the first day. Researchers are invited to submit proposals for panels and papers on Asia-related academic fields. To facilitate fruitful discussions, we encourage the submission of proposals for organized thematic panels. The submission of proposals for individual papers is also very much welcomed. Submissions for panels and individual papers are due via email to the conference secretariatASI13TH2016@telhai.ac.il, as well as to the conference convener isay@telhai.ac.il, in PDF form and in Word file by November 30, 2015. Notification of acceptance will be sent in January 2016.

Proposals should include a title of the panel/paper and an abstract (250 words max.), and your name, email address, institutional affiliation, and a short bionote. Panel proposals should include the title and abstract of each paper. Conference languages are English and Hebrew (we will consider presentations in other languages as well). Proposals should be submitted either in English (for presentations in English) or in Hebrew and English (for presentations in Hebrew). Conference presentations should last 20 minutes. Q&A sessions will take place during a general discussion period at the end of each panel. There will be a computer and a projector in every conference room. If you need additional equipment, please note it in your proposal.

The conference is open to the public and participation is free of charge. Conference participants can book rooms in Kfar Giladi Hotel. Tel-Hai Hostel and a variety of other hotels are also available. Discounted rates will be announced separately.

We would be grateful if you could distribute this call for papers among your colleagues.
